Acne & blackheads Home Remedies

1. Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel. One of the most popular acne home remedies.

2. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne.

3. Apply a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and washed with warm water. This will prevent acne, pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.

4. Place strawberry leaves on the acne, the alkalinity helps to reduce the swelling.

25. Mix corn flour with egg white and apply on your face. Let is dry completely for 1/2 hour. Dip your hands in warm water and massage your face and wash off. This when repeated regularly gives you a smooth skin.

26. Mix sandalwood paste with rosewater and apply on the face. Rinse off after 30 minutes.

27. Essential oil face mask for acne: Use a mask base powder, such as fuller's earth or kaolin powder. Use distilled or filtered water to make a paste. Mix 1 heaped teaspoon of base powder to 3 drops of essential oil. Add approximately 2 tablespoons of the water in, to make a fluid yet balanced paste. Essential oils to add in the mask either separately or try smaller amounts together; cypress oil 1 drop, lemon oil 2 drops, sage oil 1 drop.

28. Mix the paste of tender neem leaves with turmeric and apply of affected area. An eastern approach to acne home remedies.

29. Grind some nutmeg with milk and apply on affected area. Pimples disappear like magic without leaving a mark.

30. Make a mixture of lime juice and rose water. Apply on face and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

35. First wash face and then dab acne with cotton balls soaked in vinegar.

36. Mix groundnut oil with an equal amtount of fresh lime juice and apply on face. leave for 10-15 minutes and wash. It may be applied daily to prevent formation of blackheads, acne and pimples.

37. Apply juice of raw papaya (including the skin and seed) on swelling acne, pimples.

38. Apply fresh lime juice mixed to a glass of boiled milk as a face wash for acne, pimples, blackheads, and cracked skin.

39. Apply ripe Tomatoes pulp on acne, pimples and kept upto 1 hour, then wash.

40. Make a paste of roasted & powdered pomgranate skin with fresh lime juice and apply over acne, boils, pimple, blackheads and whiteheads.

41. Apply grated potatoes as poultice to treat skin blemishes, wrinkles, boils, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads , etc.

42. Make a paste of ground radish seeds with water and apply on face to remove blackheads.

43. Apply a paste of ground seasame seeds with water as poultice for inflammation of the skin due to allergies, skin rashes, and pimples.

44. Large pores on facial skin can be treated with paste of sandalwood powder with masoor dal.

45. Use an oatmeal or almond mask throughly to cleanse your face. Mix either oatmeal or almond powder with enough rose water to make a soft paste that spreads easily on the skin. Rub it on your skin with your fingertips, paying special attention the problem areas. Leave to dry for about 15 minutes and then rinse off with cold water. This is very good in getting rid of blackheads.

46. A solution made out of one and a half cups of hot water and half a tablespoon of boric powder is an ideal remedy for blackheads, Saturate a face napkin in this hot solution and press on to the skin, repeat twice. Extract blackheads carefully with a blackhead remover and sterilized cottonwool. Pat on an astrigent.

Myopia-Causes and prevention

Myopia is an eye condition wherein when light entering the eye focuses in front of the retina instead of directly on it. Myopics can see things clearly when in close contact while having trouble focusing on distant objects as they appear blurred.

Symptoms of Myopia

Myopia is experienced when a person can normally see things that are closer to them while having difficulty in seeing things from afar. They often have headaches or eyestrain, and have the tendency to squint their eyes in order to clear their vision. Fatigue is apparent when being active at locomotor skills.

Causes of Myopia

Nearsightedness occurs if the light entering your eye is not focused correctly due to elongated eyeballs or too much curvature in the cornea.

Stress caused by too much close vision work is considered to be the root cause of myopia. Eyes are strained when reading in dim light or inside a moving vehicle and watching television with the lights off.

Home Remedies / Treatment for Myopia

Vitamin A:
Take 25,000 vitamin A supplements daily. The best sources of this vitamin are butter, soya beans, fresh milk, milk cream, cheese, oranges, tomatoes, raw spinach, green peas, dates, lettuce, and turnip.

Triphala:
Mix 30 gm of Triphala in ½ liter of water. Drink it or use it to wash the eyes twice a day. Continue to a few months to achieve desirable results.

Licorice:
Mix ½ teaspoon of licorice root power, equal parts of honey, and half parts of ghee. Drink with milk on an empty stomach daily.

Chicory:
Mix 200ml of carot juice, 150 ml of celery juice, 75 ml of endives juice, and 75 ml of parsley juice to make ½ liter of this juices. Combine with ½ liter of chicory juice. Take it everyday for a few months until vision improved.

Diet Suggestions for Myopia

Shake your body from side to side gently, slowly, and steadily, with the heels rising alternately but not the rest of the foot, just like a swinging pendulum. Do this exercise in front of a window or a picture, so that the window or picture appears to be moving in the opposite direction of the swing. Blink once when facing one end of the window or object.

Hair loss is caused by many reasons such as malnutrition, illness, tension and other health problems.It is normal to shed some hair each day as part of a cycle of growing new hairs and loosing some.However,some people may experience excessive hair loss which might cause baldness.Hair loss of this type can affect men, women and children. Other reasons for hair loss in men and women are; stress, infection, surgery, high fever,diets,over brushing,syphilis,and tumors.Severe hair problems may cause anguish. An increase in the numbers of hairs lost daily about 200 hairs a day will be noticeable to the person who may become desperately anxious that he or she is going to become bald.
Perming, straightening, hair dyeing and bleaching ,hot combing, using heated rollers and hot wax inevitably damage the hair.Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp.Once split ends have appeared, it is a good idea to trim off the straggly ends to give a healthy appearance to the hair.

Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall.

1. The best treatment is to take a course of vitamins known to be effective in promoting hair growth.

2. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair.

3. Rub oil into the scalp.Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head.Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well.

4. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea.Massage well and shampoo.

5. Beat two eggs,and add two tablespoons of water to it. Rinse hair and pour the egg mixture over the hair.Massage the scalp well and leave for 10 minutes.Then wash it.

6. Washing hair with a weak solution of salt cleans the scalp, cures dandruff and prevents hair loss.

7. Use vinegar rinse to soften hair.It acts as a good conditioner.

8. Boil three handfuls of celery leaves.Remove the leaves,and add the juice of a lemon to it. Apply and then rinse after some time.

9. Massage with olive oil before going to bed at night and next morning, wash off the hair gently.

10. Never brush the hair when it is wet.

11. Massage aloe Vera gel over the scalp,leave it for about one hour.After this rinse the hair with warm water.It gives excellent results for hair loss if one uses this massage at least 3-4 times a week.

12. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss,make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods.Some good sources of iron include lean red meat,dried fruits,soybeans,tofu and broccoli.

13. About 50 to 100 milligrams a day of vitamin B6 also helps decrease hair fall.

14. Rinse your hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea this helps hair
grow.

15. One of the best home remedies for treating hair loss is to massage your scalp with fingers gently.It will also aid in increasing blood circulation and lend glow to your hair.

21. For hair loss, try this - boil 1 cup of mustards’ oil with 4 tbsp of Henna leaves. Filter the solution and keep it in bottle. Massage onto the scalp on regular basis.

22. One should not wash the hair with too hot water since it makes hair to fall. Take care that you should not wash the hair more than twice a week. If you use any hair-shampoo, go for herbal and use milder shampoo. One should not comb the hair backwards and should use good quality combs or brushes. One should avoid excessive combing.

23. Coconut milk or Aloe gel can be massaged and kept for ½ hour, and then washed with lukewarm water. Repeat thrice a week to arrest hair fall.

  1. Combine 1 tsp. of cinnamon powder and 1 tsp of lemon juice. Apply it to the affected area.
  2. Combine cinnamon powder with honey and form it into paste. Right before sleeping, apply the mixture to your face and wash it the next morning. Do this every night for about 2 weeks and you will no longer worry about pimples.
  3. Mixing grind nutmeg with milk will work to remove pimples instantly.
  4. Applying an orange peel paste on the area of your face with pimples is another effective way. The orange peel should become a paste by grinding it with little water.
  5. For additional protection from the formation of blackheads, combine 1 part fresh lime juice with 1 part groundnut oil. Apply the mixture to your face.
  6. Blend raw papaya fruit to create a juice. This includes the seed and the skin. Apply it on swelling pimples.
  7. Use boiled milk combined with fresh lime juice as facial wash for cracked skin, blackheads, and pimples.
  8. Combine 1 part of rose water to 1 part of lime juice and apply it in the pimples. Leave it for about 20-30 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water.
  9. Apply on the affected area for at least 1 hour the pulp of ripe tomatoes. Wash it off with water.
  10. Potatoes grated and applied on affected area can cure pimples. It is also effective on curing boils, whiteheads, blackheads, and other skin blemishes.
  11. A powdered pomgranate skin & roasted paste mixed with lime juice can treat pimples effectively. This mixture could also treat whiteheads, blackheads, and boils.
  12. Ground radish seeds formed into paste and mixed with water remove blackheads.
  13. Mix lime juice with ground drumstick pods and leaves. Apply it on the pimples.
  14. Mint juice when applied on every evening can treat pimples as well. It also effective in treating scabies, insect stings, skin infections, and eczema.
  15. Combine ground sesame seeds paste with water. Apply it on the affected area. It is also effective in treating skin rashes and allergies.
  16. To prevent pimples, apply on the face mixture of fresh fenugreek leaves and water. Wash it on the next day with warm water.
  17. Mix an equal amount of groundnut oil and fresh lime juice. Apply it on the affected area. Wash it off after about 10-15 minutes. It also prevents blackheads.
  • Dab a small amount of toothpaste (paste, not gel) on pimples before bed; this helps dry out the pimples.
  • Mix equal amounts of lemon juice and rose water, apply to face with a cotton ball, and allow to sit for 30 minutes before rinsing. 15-20 days of this application helps cure pimples and also helps to remove blemishes and scars.
  • Apply fresh lemon juice on the affected area overnight. Wash off with warm water next morning.
  • For acne that hasn't seemed to respond to anything, steep 2-3 tsp. dried basil leaves in 1 cup boiling water for 10-20 minutes, cool, and apply to affected area with a cotton ball.
